A permanent solution for missing teeth
Missing teeth can really impact your confidence, ability to eat and sometimes even your speech. Whilst dentures are a great solution for many, often a permanent solution, like implants, are the more suitable choice. Permanently fixed in place, you’re free to smile, eat and enjoy life without worrying about keeping dentures in place or having to take them out to clean them. Contact our practice today for a free consultation to see if implants are right for you.
How are implants fitted?
Dental implants are fitted in 2 steps. At the first stage, the dentist will first drill into your jawbone to insert an implant screw which will hold the false tooth. Once this has healed, the false tooth, or crown, will be attached on top. Single or multiple teeth can be replaced with this process. It may take several months for the implant to fully fuse to your jawbone and heal; however, the results are worth waiting for.
Looking after your dental implants
To keep your dental implants in the best possible condition and prevent issues such as infection or bone loss, we recommend keeping on top of your dental hygiene routine. By doing this, you also give your implant the best chance of staying in great condition. Although this is a permanent solution for missing teeth, the crown part of your implant may need to be replaced after 20-30 years.
